Oyo State Governor, Engineer Oluwaseyi Makinde, has called on youths in the state to support his administration in any positive way they can in order to take Oyo State to the next level in it’s economic and social security drive. The Governor stated this while delivering a lecturing titled “The Man, Government and Governance” at the second edition of KolaDaisi University Ibadan students’ week which started on Monday 5, July 2021.
The governor who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Honorable Victor Olojede, said Oyo State government is very passionate about the development of all youths in state, particularly the economic growth of every youth. He added that his administration is working tirelessly to create more entrepreneurial opportunities and career growths for the youths in the state.
The Oyo State Governor further stated that his administration is currently looking into how to partner with Private Universities in the state in order to ease the burden of Universities management, parents and students, particularly students who are interested in creating jobs opportunities for their colleagues.
Governor Makinde also used the opportunity to call on private investors to assist the state government in giving scholarships to exceptional Indigent students both in public and private Universities.
In his remark, the Ag Vice Chancellor of KolaDaisi University Ibadan, Professor Adeniyi Olatunbosun, commended the Governor Makinde for being concerned in education and development of the Youths in the state. He also used the opportunity to request that the governor establish an endorsement in his honour at KolaDaisi University Ibadan as a personal contribution to the development of the University.
As a mark of honour, the students presented Governor Makinde an award of excellence for his contributions to humanity.
