US Consulate donated $24,000 worth of books to the University

The US consulate office Lagos on Wednesday, 06 October, 2021 donated over 224 volumes of books worth $24,000 on various courses being taught in the University.

The Public Affairs Officer (PRO) of the United States (U.S.) Consulate, Stephen Ibeli, advice the students during his official visit and donation of books worth $24,000 to the University to read books to improve their knowledge and capacity. He said

“We are happy to be here. We looked for a way to help. One of the ways to do that is by working with the University to identify a need and that need is the provision of books. As we love to invest in people, education, development, and the future, we felt that provision of books is the best approach in which to partner with the University.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun, in his response said “We are very excited about the donation. The supply is need-based. It will promote the research profile and academic activities of the school. Others should emulate the gesture of the Consulate.”
